Founder and Chief Science Officer

Kevin Rosa, PhD

Dr. Kevin Rosa founded Current Lab in 2021. He holds a B.A. in Physics and a PhD in Physical Oceanography from the University of Rhode Island and is a recognized expert in the fields of numerical oceanography and high performance computing. He has previously served as an oceanographer in the Department of Energy at Los Alamos National Laboratory and the Department of Defense at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center.

Chief Executive Officer

Neil Hamel

Neil has dual ABBs in Public Policy and Business Economics from Brown University. He has spent 5 years across several venture backed startups and 12 years in corporate innovation and venture capital, most recently at the global offshore wind leader, Orsted, where he led innovation for Orsted’s Americas business and became the Managing Director of Orsted Ventures.

Chief Product Officer

Amit Nehra

Amit holds a multidisciplinary academic background, having studied mathematics and computer science at Queen's University and physical oceanography at the Graduate School of Oceanography. Prior to Current Lab, he led product architecture, development, and management across senior roles at Higher Ground Education and Tim Hortons.
